Koya-san
Located south of Kyoto and Osaka, Koyasan is a popular destination for travelers. Before about 100 years ago, women were not allowed to visit the mountain due to its sacred status. There are several ways to reach Koyasan by train. The most comfortable way is by taking the Ltd. Exp Kuroshio train from Shin-Osaka. The journey takes approximately 220 minutes. You can also take the local JR Wakayama line.
The Koya area is home to the Koyasan Shingon temple, the headquarters of the Shingon Buddhism sect. It is also the site of the Koya University of Religious Studies, where you can pursue a degree in Buddhism.
Meiji Shrine
When you’re in Tokyo, you should make time to see the Meiji Shrine, which is one of the country’s most famous shrines. Located in the Shibuya district, it draws visitors from all over Japan. When you visit Tokyo, make sure you visit Yoyogi Park. This large park in the Shibuya Ward is near the fashionable Harajuku district and the famous Meiji Shrine. This park is very popular with visitors and is a great place to enjoy the outdoors. During weekends, the park is a popular place to watch rockabilly dancers. This park is also a great place to visit in the spring, when the cherry blossoms are in full bloom.
The park is open every hour and costs nothing to visit. It contains the Meiji Shrine, which was established in 1920 in tribute to Emperor Meiji. The park features 120 thousand trees donated from all over Japan and is spread over 70 hectares.
Tokyo Midtown

Tokyo Midtown is renowned for its luxury shopping, but you can also find high-quality Japanese crafts here. You can buy handcrafted items, as well as contemporary zebra prints or ceramics made by working artists. The district is also home to two green spaces, Hinokicho Park and Midtown Garden. Hinokicho Park is a Japanese-style garden, while the Midtown Garden has cherry blossom trees.
Shibuya
Shibuya is the youth hub of Tokyo, where you can find a plethora of fashionable shops and restaurants. You can also experience the nightlife and karaoke that are a part of the local culture. The area is also home to a confusing maze of tunnel networks, which makes finding your way around the area a challenge. When in the neighborhood, make sure to exit at the Hachiko exit, which is closest to Shibuya Station.
The main shopping street of Shibuya is Center Gai, which is across from the Shibuya Station. There are many stores selling everything from cosplay outfits to trendy sunglasses. If you like Japanese pop culture, this is the place for you. Another great shopping street is Spain-zaka, which connects Center Gai to the shopping building Parco Part-1. The area has a back-alley vibe and a great collection of trendy shops and restaurants.
